Main Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

Activated Charcoal

It is not the same substance as that is found in charcoal bricks or burnt pieces of wood.
The manufacture of activated charcoal makes it extremely absorbent, which allows it to bind to molecules, ions or atoms.
Due to this action, it is known to remove these from dissolved substances.
The process of making activated charcoal consists of heating carbon-rich materials, such as wood, coconut shells or sawdust to very high temperatures.
This ‘activation’ process then strips the charcoal of molecules previously absorbed, freeing up ‘bonding sites’ to be used again.
The process reduces the size of pores in the charcoal, thereby making more holes in each molecule; thus increasing its overall surface area.

It is said that one teaspoon of Activated Charcoal has a greater surface area than a football field.

More research is worldwide required, but in general Activated Charcoal is used for:
Diarrhea
Kidney Health
Intestinal Gas
Water filtration – widely used as a natural water filter.

Diarrhea – research shows that it might be able to prevent bacteria and drugs that can cause diarrhea from being absorbed into the body by trapping them on its porous, textured surface.
Deodorant: Activated charcoal deodorants are widely available, and popular for absorbing smells and other harmful gases. These properties make it a ideal underarm, shoe and refrigerator deodorant.
